{"id":1404,"date":"2021-02-05T00:08:01","date_gmt":"2021-02-05T00:08:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/touchupdirect.com\/blog\/?p=1404"},"modified":"2024-07-09T20:45:33","modified_gmt":"2024-07-09T20:45:33","slug":"video-ride-of-v4-streetfighter-at-laguna-seca-touchupdirect","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/touchupdirect.com\/blog\/?p=1404","title":{"rendered":"Video Ride of V4 Streetfighter at Laguna Seca | TouchUpDirect"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ducati REVS Laguna Seca Superleggera V4 and Streetfighter V4 Track Day - Part 2\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mgMFeirwWf8?start=27&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Breaking in a brand-new Ducati motorcycle on a track<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Continuing my report from the October 26 Ducati REVS track day event at the Laguna Seca raceway, I\u2019m sharing the video of my ride on my brand new <a href=\"https:\/\/touchupdirect.com\/touch-up-paint\/ducati\/\">Ducati<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/touchupdirect.com\/touch-up-paint\/ducati\/streetfighter\/\">Streetfighter<\/a> with only 100 miles on it. To see part 1 of my report, check out my ride on my <a href=\"https:\/\/touchupdirect.com\/videos\/video-ride-of-v4-superleggera-at-laguna-seca-touchupdirect\/\">V4 Superleggera<\/a> from that morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I prepared my Streetfighter for the track by switching out the stock wheels for some lighter Marchesini magnesium wheels. The lighter wheels allowed me to cut down total bike weight by 8 lbs (2 lbs from the front and 6 from the back). I also modified the base model with a better-looking <a href=\"https:\/\/touchupdirect.com\/touch-up-paint\/ducati\/panigale-v4-r\/\">Panigale V4 R<\/a> tail section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Out on the track, I had a lot more fun on the Streetfighter than I did on the SL because on the Streetfighter, I was more comfortable passing other riders and speeding through the turns. I didn\u2019t have to worry as much about wrecking my bike because the Streetfighter is much more replaceable than the super-rare Superleggera. Since the bike only had 100 miles on it, I still did modify my riding somewhat in order to facilitate a smooth break in.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the track, the base model suspension of the Streetfighter worked well &#8211; responsive, but not squirrelly.
